Photo post 2

This is an old article from 2013. I was a kid. I learned a lot since then, so please do think twice when taking advice from me as a kid.

I have been creating a Lego Minifig + Rig in Blender recently.

Working time

Modelling: ~4 hrs

Rigging: ~5 hrs

Weight Painting Legs: ~4 hrs

Weight Painting Other: ~ 1 hr

Total: ~14 hrs

Motivation

You may remember the Lego Parkour Animation I uploaded to youtube quite a white ago (January 2012). Back then I used a rig from blendswap by an user called hjmediastudios.

While it was a decent and simple rig, I did miss some features which would have helped quite a lot while animating. So I created my own, which I will be able to modify as I which and add new features to it when I find them necessary.

Oh, so this means, I am planing another Lego Parkour Animation? Yeah, I am.

Current Features

  • Arm/Leg IK/FK Slideable
  • Advanced Spline Rig

Future Features

There are some features I have in mind, which I did not have the time to implement yet:

  • A texture face rig
  • Neck rig
  • Fingers rig incomplete

I hope I will find some time to do some of these in the near future.
