Execution Matters
~ 1.5 Minute Read.
I was at a startup event yesterday, which was probably my first—at Vhite Rabbit I always wanted to concentrate on the content part more than the formalities of being a company. Isolated from the rest of the startup scene in my area in that way it was very interesting talking to people that were similarly-minded!
This is one of the things Gary Vaynerchuck postulates 1, but I want to emphasize this here, since I heared about his at this event aswell: with trend of “entrepreneurship” being “hip”, people don’t realize how much work you need to put in to get your ideas rolling!
The best idea is worthless if you cannot implement it.
A bad idea can work though, if you compensate with great execution, though.
I’ve been working together with my team at Vhite Rabbit for soon to be five years now and we did not have had financial success yet. We never had “the idea”, but just wanted to work on Virtual Reality software—games for the most part up till now. This built up our team quite well, established pipelines and structured us so that we gained speed in execution. Now that we may have an interesting idea that we will pursue, this will be a great advantage.
What I want to leave you with is: don’t wait for an idea to start executing on. Starting to execute on a subpar idea can build up your skills that you will need once that bigger idea comes along.
